Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter
- 3 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) pastry shell (unbaked)
Method
- In top of double boiler, over boiling water, heat butter and chocolate, stirring until melted and well blended.
- Allow to cool slightly.
- Blend syrup, sugar, salt and vanilla into beaten eggs. Add chocolate mixture; blend well.
- Pour mixture into pie shell. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes, or until pie is almost but not quite firm when shaken.
