Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. (2 c.) semi-sweet chocolate mini-morsels, divided
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
  • 3/4 c. finely chopped nuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • In large bowl, combine flour, butter, confectioners sugar and vanilla; mix until well blended.
  • Stir in 1 cup mini-morsels; mix well.
  • Drop dough by rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets; shape into 2-inch logs or press into circles using bottom of floured glass.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Cool completely.
