Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cup baking pieces
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Method

  • preheat oven to 375, large mixing bowl, beat shortening & butter, add brown sugar, granulated sugar, & baking soda.
  • Beat until combined, scraping side of bowl occasionally.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
  • Beat in flour, using a wooden spoon, stir in chocolate pieces.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 8-10 mins or until edges are lightly browned.
  • Transfer to wire racks & let cool.
  • Make about 60 cookies
