Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. oats
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  • Mix together flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Beat the sugars and butter together until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. At low speed, beat in flour mixture until blended. Fold in chocolate chips and oats. Cover. Chill for 1 hour. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on greased baking sheets 2-inches apart. Flatten slightly. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until browned around the edges. Cool on pans slightly. Transfer to racks to cool. Makes 4 dozen.
