Ingredients
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 1/4 c. flour (Softasilk)
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. Wesson oil
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, grated
Method
- Oil and flour 2 round cake pans. Beat egg whites until fluffy. Beat in 1/2 cup sugar until stiff.
- Set aside.
- Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Add oil, 1/2 cup milk and vanilla. Beat at medium speed. Add remaining milk and egg yolks. Beat 1 minute. Fold in chocolate, egg whites and sugar.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°.
