Ingredients

  • 1 c. plain flour
  • Healthy pinch of salt
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • Cool water

Method

  • 1.
  • Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
  • Rub in butter with your fingertips till mix looks like fine bread crumbs.
  • Add in sufficient cool water to make a stiff dough.
  • Roll out to a thickness of 1/8" and line the bottom of a 9" pie tin.
  • Bake in a 450 degree oven for 15 min.
  • Cold.

  • Heat chocolate in boiling water.
  • 3.
  • Soak gelatin in cool water for five min.
  • Stir into chocolate mix till gelatin dissolves.
  • 4.
  • Beat egg yolks with 1/2 c. sugar till light and fluffy.
  • Add in to gelatin mix.
  • Add in salt and vanilla, mix well and cold.
  • 5.
  • Beat 1/2 c. chocolate mix and pour into baked pie shell.
  • Refrigeratetill hard.
  • 6.
  • Just before serving, spread whipped cream on the top.
  • Serves 6 to 8.
