Ingredients

  • 1 can Comstock cherry pie filling
  • 1 can Dole crushed pineapple
  • 1/2 to 3/4 box (dry) yellow cake mix
  • pecan halves (to cover top of cake)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cubes butter, cut into pats (keep the pats cool)

Method

  • In a pan that has been sprayed with a nonstick coating, dump the first 2 items into the pan.
  • Dump cake mix and spread evenly with a fork.
  • Dump the pecans on top.
  • Lay butter pats over top. Cover pan loosely with foil and bake at 325° for 1 hour.
  • The last 15 minutes of baking, remove foil so cake can brown.
