Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (14 oz.) can chopped tomatoes
- 1 (14 oz.) can chili seasoned beans
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce (no salt added)
- 1 c. water
- 1 (14 oz.) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- red and black pepper to taste
Method
- On medium-high heat, brown meat in large pot.
- Drain and rinse to remove fat.
- Meanwhile, chop onion.
- Add onion to meat and stir under onions until tender.
- Add remaining ingredients to pot and let the chili come to a boil.
- Turn down heat.
- Cover and let the chili simmer for 20 minutes.
- Can also be frozen and reheated.
- Makes 8 (1-cup) servings.
