Ingredients
- 1 (27 oz.) can S&W 50% less salt kidney beans
- 1 (20 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 lb. lean hamburger (optional)
- 2 carrots
- 1 c. fresh or frozen green beans
- 2 Tbsp. minced dried onion
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cumin (or to taste)
- 1 tsp. chili powder (or to taste)
Method
- Steam carrots (peeled and sliced) and green beans over a small amount of water until tender; reserve water.
- In a large skillet, brown hamburger; drain fat.
- Add remaining ingredients and reserved water; simmer, uncovered, about 20 minutes until flavors have blended and soup has thickened.
