Ingredients
- 1 (6 to 10 lb.) hen
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. pepper
- 2 to 3 c. raw rice
- 3 small or 1 large can mushrooms, sliced and browned
- coarsely ground black pepper
Method
- Cook hen with celery, bay leaves, salt, pepper and enough water to cover.
- When the chicken is ready to fall from the bones, remove from broth; set aside.
