Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. chicken (may be frozen, may be skinless and boneless)
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • cooked rice
  • 1 Tbsp. oil

Method

  • Combine chicken, water, vinegar, bay leaf, garlic, pepper and soy sauce in a medium to large saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil; cover and lower heat.
  • Cook until chicken is done and a small amount of broth is left.
  • Add the oil and brown the contents of the pan, if desired.
  • (Cooking time is 45 to 60 minutes average.)
  • Serve over rice.
