Ingredients

  • 6 egg whites
  • 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. crushed soda crackers
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (12 oz.) carton Cool Whip
  • 1 (12 oz.) can cherry pie filling

Method

  • Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy. Slowly beat in sugar and vanilla. Beat until glossy. Fold in crushed soda crackers and chopped nuts. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Cool completely. Spread Cool Whip over top. Spoon Comstock cherry pie filling over top. Chill before serving.
