Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. graham crackers, crushed fine
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 stick of butter (real is better)
  • 3 (8 oz.) pkg. of cream cheese, softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 can cherry pie filling or sweetened strawberries

Method

  • Mix crumbs and sugar and add melted butter.
  • Press into cheese cake pan about 1/2 way up the side.
  • Bake 10 minutes in 350 degree oven.
  • Beat cream cheese and 1 egg, 3/4 c. sugar, add other 3 eggs and vanilla (real).
  • Beat until well blended but no longer than necessary.
  • Over beating causes cake to split. (I found out after many splits.)
  • Bake for 40 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and spread with sour cream mixed with 1/2 c. sugar.
  • Bake 10 minutes more.
  • Cool and refrigerate.
  • Just before serving, top with 1 can cherry pie filling or sweetened strawberries.
