Ingredients
- 2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. dry milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. shredded sharp cheese
- 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Stir together water, dry milk, sugar, salt and yeast.
- Let stand to dissolve, about 1 minute.
- Add cheese and 1 cup flour. Beat until blended.
- Add 2 cups flour and blend.
- Add 1 cup flour and blend.
- Knead 1 to 2 minutes.
- Let stand 10 minutes.
- Knead until smooth; add flour as necessary.
- Place in bowl and cover. Let stand.
- Punch down after bread doubles in size.
- Knead and form into loaves.
- Put into loaf pans and cover; let rise.
- Bake 45 minutes at 375°.
