Ingredients

  • 3 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 c. caramel chips
  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs (unbeaten)
  • 1 c. plus 2 tsp. milk

Method

  • Melt chocolate and caramel chips in double boiler; cool slightly.
  • Cream butter.
  • Add sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
  • Stir in caramel-chocolate mixture.
  • Add flour alternately with milk, beating smooth after each addition.
  • Bake in 2 (9-inch) pans at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
