Ingredients
- 1/4 c. margarine or butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 c. Kix cereal
- ungreased cookie sheet
Method
- Heat margarine or butter in a heavy 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat until melted.
- Stir in sugar, stirring continually, for 4 to 5 minutes while mixture melts and begins to turn golden.
- Continue cooking 1 to 2 minutes until mixture is no longer granular and is lightly golden (mixture may be separated, that's okay).
- Do not overcook! Remove from heat, quickly adding cereal.
- Mix until cereal is coated completely.
- Immediately spread on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Cool completely and break into small pieces.
- Store in airtight container.
- Makes about 6 cups of candy.
