Caramel Clusters - margarine

Method

• Heat margarine or butter in a heavy 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat until melted.
• Stir in sugar, stirring continually, for 4 to 5 minutes while mixture melts and begins to turn golden.
• Continue cooking 1 to 2 minutes until mixture is no longer granular and is lightly golden (mixture may be separated, that's okay).
• Do not overcook! Remove from heat, quickly adding cereal.
• Mix until cereal is coated completely.
• Immediately spread on ungreased cookie sheet.
• Cool completely and break into small pieces.
• Store in airtight container.
• Makes about 6 cups of candy.
