Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups buttermilk*
  • 2 Land O Lakes Eggs
  • 3 tablespoons Land O Lakes Butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup golden raisins or chopped nuts

Method

  • Heat oven to 350F.
  • Grease bottoms only of two (9x5-inch) loaf pans.
  • Set aside.
  • Combine all ingredients except raisins in bowl; beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
  • Stir in raisins.
  • Spoon batter evenly into prepared loaf pans.
  • Bake 40-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Let stand 10 minutes.
  • Remove from pans.
  • Cool completely.
