Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1/4 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 2 tsp. butter flavoring
  • 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 c. (plain) flour
  • 1 c. milk (can evaporated)

Method

  • Have ingredients at room temperature. Cream the butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time.
  • Add flour and milk, alternating. Add flavorings. Start in cold oven at 325° on center shelf. Keep oven closed. Test in 1 hour but usually takes between 5 and 10 minutes longer.
  • Makes a large cake!
