Ingredients
- 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
Method
- Put 1 1/2 c. flour and yeast in blender container.
- Switch on and off to mix.
- Heat lowfat milk, shortening, sugar, and salt till shortening melts.
- Add in to dry mix.
- Blend on low a few seconds.
- Add in egg.
- Blend on low till combined.
- Blend on high till smooth.
- 4 to 5 seconds.
- Pour into bowl.
- Add in rest of flour to make stiff dough.
- Cover.
- Let rise till double, about 45 min.
- Punch down.
- Turn onto floured surface.
- Let rest 10 min.
- Shape loaf.
- Put into greased 9 x 5 x 3 pan.
- Cover, let rise till double.
- Bake 375 degrees for 40 to 45 min.
