Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
  • dash of salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 5 c. apples, sliced thinly
  • 1 unbaked (9-inch) pie shell (your favorite)

Method

  • Sift the first 4
  • ingredients together
  • and mix well. Add the beaten egg,
  • sour
  • cream, vanilla
  • and nutmeg, mixing well. Fold mixture into apples carefully.
  • Spoon all into pie shell. Bake at 400° for
  • 15
  • minutes; reduce heat to 350° and bake 20 minutes longer.
  • Take
  • pie from
  • oven.
  • Have
  • topping ready to put on pie.
