Ingredients
- 2 c. Sifted flour
- 2 3/4 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2/3 c. Shortening
- 1 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 3 x Large eggs, separted
- 3/4 c. Lowfat milk
- 1 1/2 c. Grnd black walnuts
Method
- Sift flour, baking pwdr and salt together.
- Cream shortening with sugar and vanilla till fluffy.
- Add in beaten egg yolks and beat thoroughly.
- Add in sifted dry ingredients and lowfat milk alternately in small amounts, beating well after each addition.
- Add in nuts and mix in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Pour into greased pans and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 min.
- Makes 2 (9inch) layers.
