Ingredients

  • 6 thin slices sirloin roast
  • 2 medium onions
  • 10 slices bacon
  • mustard (optional)

Method

  • Lay out beef on waxed paper.
  • Dice onions and cut bacon in pieces.
  • Saute onions and bacon.
  • Place onions and bacon pieces on a paper towel to remove the fat.
  • Spread thin layer of mustard on beef slices (optional).
  • Put equal amounts of onions and bacon pieces on each slice of meat.
  • Roll each slice of meat into a roll and secure with a toothpick.
  • Brown each piece of meat on all sides.
  • Pour water over meat and let simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Take meat out of liquid and thicken gravy with flour or cornstarch. Season gravy to taste.
