Ingredients

  • 1/2-inch steak, cut in 2-inch cubes
  • 1 small minced garlic clove
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. sake, sherry or gin
  • 1 1/2 lb. bite size broccoli
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. cold water

Method

  • In wok, stir-fry beef, garlic, sugar and salt in hot oil. Stir in sake and soy sauce.
  • Cover and cook 2 to 3 minutes. Remove meat and set aside.
  • Add broccoli and 3/4 cup water.
  • Cook 2 to 5 minutes, until crispy.
  • Add meat.
