Ingredients

  • 1 (3 to 4 lb.) brisket
  • 2 tsp. celery seed
  • 3 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. onion salt
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
  • 6 to 8 Tbsp. barbecue sauce

Method

  • Mix together all ingredients except barbecue sauce.
  • Brush liberally on both sides of brisket.
  • Wrap in foil and "marinate" overnight in refrigerator.
  • Cook for 5 hours in a 300° oven, adding 6 to 8 tablespoons barbecue sauce just before the last hour.
  • Slice thinly and enjoy!
  • Serves 6 to 8.
