Ingredients

  • about 2 lb. very fresh haddock
  • 4 to 5 slices soft white bread, broken into small pieces
  • milk
  • butter
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan (or size suitable for amount of fish).
  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • Dip haddock in milk and drain on paper towels.
  • Place fish in buttered pan; salt and pepper top of fish.
  • Cover fish with small pieces of bread; dot generously with small pieces of butter.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes.
  • Turn oven down to 375° after placing in oven.
