Ingredients

  • 5 c. peeled, cored and sliced baking apples
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Method

  • Place apples in a buttered 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  • Add water.
  • Combine the flour, sugar, butter, cinnamon and salt together in your food processor or by rubbing with your fingers until fine crumbs are formed.
  • Spread the mixture over the apples. Bake at 375° for about 45 minutes uncovered.
  • Serve cold topped with ice cream.
