Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • apples
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • cinnamon

Method

  • Mix dough (flour, powder, salt, sugar, shortening and milk). Roll into a rectangle.
  • Cover with a thick layer of apples. Roll up as for cinnamon rolls and slice off.
  • Arrange in casserole and cover with a syrup made of the brown sugar and water.
  • Heat brown sugar and water to boiling, then pour over mixture in casserole. Sprinkle on cinnamon.
  • Bake until a delicate brown in a 350° oven.
