Ingredients

  • 2 c. peeled, sliced apples
  • 1/3 to 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. regular or quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, softened
  • whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Method

  • Place apples in a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  • Combine remaining ingredients except whipped cream; mix until crumbly and sprinkle over apples.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.
  • Yields 2 servings.
