Ingredients

  • 20 cocktail sticks
  • 500 grams baby new potatoes
  • 1 olive oil for brushing
  • 10 rashers streaky bacon slices
  • 20 small sage leaves

Method

  • soak toothpicks /cocktail sticks in warm water for about 20 minutes before use to avoid them burning .
  • Bring a pot of water to boil and add the potatoes and boil for 10 minutes and drain .
  • Now brush the potatoes all over with the olive oil .
  • But each rasher of bacon slice in half widthways , now holding each piece at one end , smooth and stretch it with a knife .
  • Then wrap a piece of bacon around a potato , enclosing a sage leaf inside and securing it to the potato with a toothpick / cocktail stick .
  • cook in preheated frypan with a littt oil for about 6-8 minutes until cooked through , turning occasionally .
  • serve hot or cold .
  • enjoy .
