- 3 cups flour, all-purpose
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1/4 cup poppy seed
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Method
- Blend all ingredients until well blended.
- Pour into greased tins.
- Bake at 350F (180C) for 1 hour.
- Makes 2 large, 3 medium or 4 small loaves.
- Heat all glaze ingredients until sugar melts.
- Brush on cooled breads with a pastry brush.
- Allow glaze to harden before wrapping.
