Ingredients
- 1 cup milk warm
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 package rapid rise yeast
- 2 tablespoons warm water
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Method
- Mix well all the above, except oil for frying, with half of the flour.
- Mix well again, knead lightly.
- Put in large bowl and cover with damp cloth.
- Let rise in warm room or slightly warm oven about 2 hours.
- Roll out in small pieces on lightly floured board.
- Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
- Serve with beans or chili, or good covered with honey.
- Makes about 2 dozen.
