Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 large or 3 small ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sour milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Beat margarine and sugar with mixer for 3 minutes or until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in bananas.
  • Sift flour, soda and salt. Add flour mixture gradually to batter.
  • Stir until well mixed. Add sour milk.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Pour batter into loaf pan. Sprinkle top with nuts, if desired.
  • Bake at 375° for 1 hour or until the center is baked when tested.
  • Cool 10 minutes in pan on wire rack.
  • Remove from pan.
  • Cool.
