Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, diced
  • 2/3 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. Creole seasoning or 1 tsp. salt, black and red pepper

Method

  • Place bacon, onion, bell pepper and garlic in 7 x 11-inch glass baking dish.
  • Cover with wax paper.
  • Microwave on High (100%) 5 minutes.
  • Stir in beans, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and Creole seasoning.
  • Cover with wax paper. Microwave on High (100%) 20 minutes, stirring at 10 minutes. Continue to microwave on High (100%) 5 minutes, stirring at 2 minutes.
  • Let stand, covered, 5 minutes before serving.
  • Cooking time is 30 minutes.
  • Makes 6 servings.
