Ingredients
- 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
- 2 sticks margarine
- 5 large eggs
- 2/3 c. canned evaporated milk
- 1/3 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. butternut flavoring
Method
- Cream salt, sugar, shortening and margarine.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
- Add flour, milk and water a little at a time.
- Mix well, then mix in flavoring.
- Pour in greased and floured tube cake pan.
- Place cake in cold oven.
- Turn oven temperature to 325° and bake cake for 1 1/2 hours.
- Do not open door until done!
