Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. bacon slices
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1/3 c. hot water
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3/4 c. catsup
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (15 oz.) can baked beans
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar

Method

  • Set electric skillet at 340°.
  • Cook and stir ground beef, onion, celery and green pepper until meat is brown and vegetables tender.
  • Drain off excess fat.
  • Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water.
  • Stir bouillon and remaining ingredients into meat mixture. Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  • Crumble bacon and sprinkle over beans.
  • Makes 6 servings.
