Ingredients

  • 1 baked pie shell
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 1/2 c. canned milk (evaporated)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. peanut butter (adjust to taste)

Method

  • Combine sugar and cornstarch in heavy pan.
  • Combine egg yolks and milk and gradually add to dry mixture, stirring well to prevent lumps.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  • Boil for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and peanut butter.
  • Cool slightly.
  • Then pour into baked pie shell.
