Ingredients
- 3 lemons
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1/2 gallon of red wine (burgunday)
- 1/2 Brandy
- 10 whole cloves
- 8 cinnamon sticks
Method
- *Hardware*
- Large Kettle
- In a large kettle combine sugar, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and 4 cups of water.
- Boil uncovered for 5 minutes and then remove from heat.
- Add lemons and let stand, covered for 15 minutes.
- Lift out cloves and cinnamon stick.
- Add Brandy and Wine
- Simmer until warm and serve.
- Save extra cinnamon sticks for garnish.
