Ingredients
- 2/3 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. sugar, divided
- 2 eggs
- 1 (8 oz.) container plain yogurt
- 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts, divided
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Method
- Cream butter with 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, until blended.
- Stir in yogurt, lemon peel and vanilla.
- Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.
- Add to creamed mixture, stirring until smooth.
- Add 3/4 cup walnuts.
- Turn half of the batter into a greased, floured 9-inch tube pan.
