Ingredients

  • 2 lb. venison
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 6 c. boiling water
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 4 carrots, diced
  • 2 turnips, diced
  • 4 onions, diced

Method

  • Cut the venison into 1-inch cubes.
  • Roll in flour and brown in a small amount of oil.
  • Add the boiling water and black pepper to the browned meat.
  • Cover and simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Add the diced vegetables and simmer until tender. Use 2 tablespoons of flour moistened with water to thicken the remaining liquid.
