Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lb. stew meat
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomato wedges
- 2 c. potatoes, cubed
- 1 c. cabbage, shredded
- 1/2 c. celery, chopped
- 1/2 c. carrots, sliced
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. uncooked rice
- 1/2 tsp. grated pepper
Method
- Cover meat with water.
- Add salt and heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer 3 hours.
- Remove meat from stock.
- Let stock cool slightly; skim excess fat from surface.
