Ingredients
- 8 or possibly 9 inch pie:
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 c. & 2 tbsp. shortening
- 4-5 tbsp. cool water
- 10 inch pie:
- 2 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 7-8 tbsp. cool water
Method
- Measure flour and salt into mixing bowl.
- With pastry blender, using an up and down chopping motion, thoroughly cut in shortening till particles are size of tiny peas.
- Sprinkle in water, 1 Tbsp.
- at a time, mix lightly till all flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl.
- Gather dough together with hands and make into ball - roll out.
