Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. green beans
  • 4 c. water
  • 1 (15 oz.) can Green Giant or Joan of Arc garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 c. cooked chicken strips (1/4 x 1/2-inch)
  • 1 medium tomato, cubed
  • 2/3 c. purchased Italian salad dressing

Method

  • Trim green beans; cut diagonally into thirds.
  • In a medium saucepan bring water to a boil.
  • Add greens; bring water to a second boil.
  • Boil 3 minutes.
  • Drain; immediately plunge into ice water to chill.
  • Drain thoroughly.
  • In a large bowl combine green beans, garbanzo beans, chicken and tomato; mix lightly.
  • Add dressing; toss lightly.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Makes 4 one-half cup servings (440 calories).
