Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. unsifted flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. Nestle semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 325°.
  • In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  • In small saucepan combine butter, sugar and water; bring just to a boil.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels and vanilla extract.
  • Stir until morsels melt and mixture is smooth.
  • Transfer to larger bowl.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
  • Gradually blend in flour mixture.
  • Stir in remaining 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels and nuts.
  • Spread into greased baking pan.
  • Bake at 325° for 35 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Cut into 2 1/4-inch squares.
