Ingredients

  • 12 cup butter, softened
  • 2 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 12 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 13 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 12 cups buttermilk
  • 4 eggs
  • 12 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups toasted chopped hazelnuts
  • sifted powdered sugar

Method

  • In a mixing bowl beat the 1/2 cup butter, cream cheese, brown sugar and 2 cups of the flour till well combined.
  • With lightly floured hand pat mixture onto bottom and up sides of a 15 x 10 x 1" ungreased baking pan.
  • Bake in a 350 degrees F.
  • oven for 15 min.
  • Meanwhile, beat together granulated sugar, the remaining 1/3 cup flour, buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt with an electric mixer on low speed till combined.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Pour into crust.
  • Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes or till golden.
  • Cool, cut into bars and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  • Store in refrigerator.
