Ingredients
- 3/4 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. hot water
- 5 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast with 3/4 cup warm water; set aside.
- In large bowl, mix sugar, butter, salt and hot water; let cool.
- Add egg, yeast water and flour.
- Let rise, punch down.
- Divide into 3 parts. Roll into rectangles.
- Cover with soft butter.
- Sprinkle with sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll rectangles up lengthwise. Form a circle; pinch together.
- Cut slits across top with scissors. Turn up angles.
- Let rise.
- Cook at 400° until brown, 10 to 15 minutes.
- Cool.
- Sugar glaze (powdered sugar and hot water).
- Trim with pecans and cherries.
