Ingredients

  • 3 c. Bisquick baking mix
  • 1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, cubed and chilled
  • 1/2 c. cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • orange marmalade

Method

  • Heat oven to 450°.
  • Combine baking mix and orange peel; cut in cream cheese until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  • Add sweet potatoes and milk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto surface dusted with baking mix.
  • Shape into ball; knead 4 to 5 times.
  • Roll dough 1/2 inch thick.
  • Cut with cutters dipped in baking mix.
  • Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • With sharp knife dipped in baking mix, cut six 1/2 inch lashes around edge of each biscuit to form petals. Using thumb, make indentation in center of each biscuit and fill with about 1/4 teaspoon of marmalade.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
