Ingredients
- 1 c. sifted flour
- dash of salt
- 1/4 lb. oleo
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. ice water
- 1/4 lb. oleo
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. flour
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp. softened oleo
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- milk
- chopped nuts
Method
- Mix first 4 ingredients like pie crust.
- Divide and roll into 2 long strips on cookie sheet.
- Pat to 1/4-inch thick.
- Bring to boil 1/4 pound oleo and 1 cup water; add 1 cup flour.
- Remove from stove.
- While hot, add eggs, 1 at a time.
- Stir well after each addition.
- Add almond flavoring.
- Spread over pastry to 1/4-inch from edge.
- Bake in a 425° oven for 30 minutes.
- Cool.
