Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. almond

Method

  • Stir together thoroughly flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Cream the oleo, shortening, white sugar and powdered sugar together.
  • Add dry ingredients slowly to creamed ingredients.
  • Add egg, vanilla and almond.
  • Make into small balls.
  • Press down with a buttered glass (take one with a decorative pattern on bottom).
  • Dip glass into sugar before pressing down onto cookie.
