Ingredients

  • 5 bell peppers
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. rice
  • 1/3 c. ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • garlic to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • dash of pepper and salt

Method

  • Cut the bell peppers.
  • Mix hamburger, celery, rice, ketchup, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder, pepper and egg. Fill peppers with meat mixture.
  • Place in square baking dish.
  • Mix tomato sauce, sugar and basil in 2 cup glass measure.
  • Boil 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Serve sauce over peppers.
