Ingredients

  • 1/3 cups Sugar
  • 2/3 cups Water
  • 2-2/3 cups Fresh Or Frozen Strawberries, Pureed
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon Juice

Method

  • Makes about 1 1/2 Quarts.
  • Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan to create a simple syrup. Heat until water and sugar boil together. Then reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely (1-2 hours. I recommend making the simple syrup a day in advance so you can put all the ingredients straight into the ice cream maker).
  • Combine cooled simple syrup with pureed strawberries and lemon juice. Pour into ice cream maker and follow directions of the brand of maker you use.
  • With my ice cream maker you simply pour in the mixture, turn the switch to "On" and let it go for about 40 minutes until desired consistency is reached.
  • Serve immediately or put into a freezer-safe container and freeze.
